Almost Half of South-East Drivers Need Car Paint Repairs
How does this compare to the true state of the nation’s cars?
Across the UK, car paint repairs are often neglected due to cost and convenience, and the South-East is no exception.
In our recent YouGov survey, we discovered that 41% of car owners in the South-East had cars that needed small paintwork repairs in the last 12 months. Shockingly, only 7% of these drivers actually got the repairs done.
The survey revealed that 55% of drivers cited cost as the main reason for not repairing their car’s paintwork, while 25% said the inconvenience of getting the repairs done was the biggest factor.
Which car colours are most likely to be damaged?
The survey results revealed that blue cars are the most popular in the South-East, with 19% of car owners driving a blue vehicle.
On a national level, blue cars are the most likely to suffer paint damage, followed closely by black cars. In fact, blue cars accounted for 48% of all vehicles with scuffs, scrapes, or road rash on UK roads.
If you drive a white car, you’re in luck. The survey also showed that white cars are the least likely to suffer paintwork damage, with only 35% of white car owners reporting the need for small repairs.
