How to Fix Car Paintwork Damage: 46% of West Midlands Cars Need It
We were shocked by the results of our recent survey.
Curious about the state of the nation’s cars, we asked YouGov to conduct a survey for us. The findings revealed that 46% of car owners in the West Midlands had cars in need of small paintwork repairs over the last 12 months, but only 13% of them had the repairs completed.
Which cars are most prone to paintwork damage?
The survey revealed that black cars are the most popular in the region, with 19% of respondents owning one. While blue cars are generally the most likely to suffer paint damage across the UK, black cars came in a close second, with 43% reporting damage compared to 48% for blue cars.
Interestingly, owners of white cars seemed to be in the clear, with only 35% reporting any small paintwork damage.
Why West Midlands car owners are not getting repairs done
Among British car owners who need small paint repairs but haven’t had them done, 53% believe the repairs are too costly, while 25% find it inconvenient to fix minor paint blemishes.
Wanting to offer an inexpensive way to repair small paintwork damage, our MD Paul O’Reilly, decided to launch the Smart Chip Pen. With 24% of car owners in the West Midlands being willing to make repairs themselves, it was the perfect solution.
The industry leading pen enables car enthusiasts to effortlessly touch up small chips or scratches. With DVLA-assisted technology, customers simply enter their registration number to receive perfectly colour-matched aerosols or smart chip pens delivered right to their doorstep.
This means no more expensive car repairs in the body shop or waiting around to have a scratch repaired.
